Lawn care comes with Spring

Lawn Care Season is Here! Are you ready?

With all this beautiful weather comes the lawn care season. Many of our tenants who reside in houses, townhomes, and duplexes are required to maintain their lawn care needs. Some tenants may ask, “What does lawn care entail?” Please allow us to explain. We require that tenants mow the lawn regularly (recommend weekly), keeping grass at a reasonable length. We require that weeds and/or overgrowth be removed promptly. Your lawn should look presentable at all times. Should we receive a complaint from the city, the tenant will be given a short term notice to correct the problem, however if the problem is not corrected, we may have to hire a vendor to correct it so that the city does not fine the property owner. The tenant would then be responsible for such an expense.

When the tenant is responsible for their lawn care, they are also responsible for the removal of the yard waste. Your refuse company typically provides yard waste removal service during the “lawn care” season. This service is usually on a weekly pick-up schedule and has a minimal fee. It is the tenant responsibility to have such service established in his/her name. Should the tenant prefer to take their yard waste to the city dump personally, that is also acceptable, but should be done with each lawn care session. Yard waste cannot be left to pile up over multiple lawn care sessions. Should a complaint be received for yard waste pile up, again, the tenant will be given a short term notice to correct the problem, however if the problem is not corrected, we may have to hire a vendor to correct it so that the city does not fine the property owner. The tenant would then be responsible for such an expense.

If you have specific questions about the lawn care requirements for your residence, please feel free to contact your property manager directly and they will be happy to assist you.
